My first interior design experience was a Christmas gift of a handmade, small-scale, living room set when I was eight years old. I had spent hours arranging and rearranging this tiny living room, that was complete with rugs and lamps. Fast forward to my adult years and the throws of raising 4 small humans; I found my creative outlet in my own home and through photography. I started a professional photography company that ranged from family portraits, green room photography for Vince Gill and Amy Grant, large commercial events, and ESPN TV headshots for X Games. I enjoyed the flexible schedule that photography allowed while raising kids.
In 2010, my husband Trevor began MM-Eight Construction as a project management firm, primarily contracting to one client. In 2015, Trevor and I expanded our company into full service general contracting. The need for design for our client’s projects soon became apparent. We also became aware of the need of the in-house aspect of aesthetic solutions that were budget conscious in our ongoing projects.
In response to the immediate need in our construction company, I liquidated my photography business of seven years, and returned to the designing passion of my childhood. I went back to college at New York Institute of Art and Design through online courses and started MM-Eight Design. I have had the privilege of working on beautiful homes and condos in Aspen, Snowmass, Telluride, and Beavercreek as well as smaller-scale master bed and bath designs in Basalt. My bent is towards hard finishes which ties in beautifully with MM-Eight Construction. Both the client and our companies enjoy the efficiency of immediate answers with budget awareness at the forefront of the decision process.
I have thoroughly enjoyed building relationships with my clients and being apart of creating inviting and comfortable life spaces for them, and the ones they do life with.
I look forward to hearing from you!
